Aquatech International Corporation Opens New Location In Charleroi

It was cold and windy, but many braved the unseasonably chilly day to celebrate with Aquatech and General Industries (GI) at the grand opening ceremony of Aquatech’s newest location in Charleroi, PA.

GI owns Speers Development I and II Buildings, located just a few minutes from GI’s main offices. Aquatech’s expansion and a need for the home of Qua Technologies, a division of Aquatech, found an ideal fit in the Speers Industrial Park for the tenant space at Speers Development II. Currently, Speers Development I is available for lease.

Aquatech owner Chandra Sharma, along with 100 attendees held on to their hats, and maybe the tent, as they listened to speakers that included: Jim Dobos, VP of Global Operations at Qua Technologies, Don Ivill, President of GI; Matthew Ivill, Real Estate Manager of GI; Commissioner Diana Irey and Commissioner Larry Maggi of Washington County; and Jeff Kotula, President of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce.

Aquatech employees provided attendees with tours of the facility, and The Willow Room in Belle Vernon catered lunch for the event.  

“Events like today are important to recognize the hard work that goes into the project, and to welcome the business and its employees to the area,” said Don Ivill. “GI has a long history with Aquatech, and it has been our privilege to work and grow with them. They have facilities all over the world, and it’s encouraging and exciting that they now have a location right here in the Mon Valley.”

Also involved with the project were tenant build out designers: Stephen Barnum, Reuben Losh, and Angela Ellis -Miller of Omni Associates Architects; Site Engineer Harvey Treschow of HMT and Associates; and Interior Designer Michele Cerciello of Collaborate Designs.

“While we moved our staff from Canonsburg, we have also added several people in the past month and look to add a few more in the coming weeks,” said Jim Dobos. “We have every intention of growing our business, and this facility will provide us with the infrastructure to do so.”

GI welcomes Aquatech to their latest home and would like to thank the speakers and everyone that attended the event for their support and dedication to the continued development of the Mon Valley.
